For Non-Profit Organisations
Our clients are not-for-profit organisations whose primary aim is to help children. If you fit these criteria, and you would like to get a free Web site for your organisation, then we can help!
We realise that this is a fairly broad definition. If you’re not sure whether your organisation qualifies, just ask and we can clarify that for you.
We are based in Perth, Australia, but we’re happy to deal with clients anywhere around the world.
What do we do for you?
Briefly, you get a Web site, with up to 10 pages of text and pictures.
It’s up to you to provide the text for the pages, any photos that you would like, and your logo (if you have one).
We’ll take this information and create a Web site for you. We’ll also give you a password so that you can update your Web site at any time.
We’ll put the site on the Internet and tell Google about it so that people will be able to find it.
Your Web address will be a combination of our address and yours. For example, if your organisation is “Kid’s Aid”, then your Web address will be ourtomorrow.org/kids-aid.
You’ll also get an e-mail address – for example, kids-aid@ourtomorrow.org. All e-mail sent to that address will be forwarded automatically to another e-mail address of your choice (for example, your secretary’s address).
If you would like to show a public “calendar of events”, we’ll include that for you as well.
We’ll also give you an e-mail newsletter facility, so that you can build up a mailing list and keep in touch regularly with them.
What will it cost?
Our goal is to provide this as a free service. Everything we’ve listed above is free of charge, courtesy of First Step Communications and our team of designers.
However, we realise that you might be willing to pay a small amount of money in order to get a slightly better Web site. So we offer a few options - as described below. We're not trying to profit from these options - in fact, we're providing them to you at cost.
Domain Name
You can get your own domain name, which
means that instead of your Web address being, say, ourtomorrow.org/kids-aid, it could be something like kids-aid.org (or www.kids-aid.org).
This is a more professional name and makes it easier for you to move the site elsewhere in the future.
Domain names cost less than $20 per year, so even if you do decide to get one, the cost is minimal.
Graphic Design
The Web site we build for you is fairly basic, though it does have your organisation's colours and logo - for example:
If you would like a more professional graphic design, you can buy a design from Template Monster, and we'll use that for your Web site.
Many of their designs are available for about $100, so again the cost is minimal. If you're considering this option, feel free to browse their collection, but please don't buy anything yet - until you talk to us.
How long does it take?
In our experience, the biggest delay in developing a Web site is getting all the information from the client! So the sooner you can have this ready for us, the better.
After that, we can usually have your Web site ready within two weeks.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one.
We’re not doing this to try and “up-sell” you to a paid service, or to get hold of your mailing list, or anything sneaky like that.
We really are about helping organisations like yours, so please trust us.
