Dates
Rigoletto is the tragic story of the hunchbacked jester of the Duke of Mantua. Rigoletto, trying to hide his beautiful daughter Gilda from the duke and the world, is cursed by Count Monterone and plans to kill the duke with the help of the assassin Sparafucile. La Bohème , One of the most touching love stories ever - Rodolfo the poet and Mimi the seamstress find each other in Paris. Life as a Bohemian is difficult, but with help from their friends Marcello the painter and Musetta the showgirl, they manage. However, Mimi’s fragile health and Rodolfo’s fierce temper leads the opera to take a dramatic turn. The Barber of Seville, the most exciting opera by Gioachino Rossini, this comic masterpiece presents the most famous barber of all times, Figaro, who wants to help his friend Count Almaviva win the heart of Rosina, the ward of Doctor Bartolo, who himself wants to marry her. Tango & Bolero, Lisandro de Guinis, argentinian baritone and acclaimed star of the Rigoletto and Nabbuco Productions in La Plata / Argentinia, will sing traditional and modern Tango & Bolero Songs. Lisandro performed this program already in 2010 at the famous Teatro San Carlo di Napoli. Accompanied by Cristiano Manzoni at the piano with 2 Tango Dance Couples. Our charming Opera Productions in costumes, scenes and with choir, slightly abridged versions, are showing Italian Opera in a pure, lively and concentrated way - interpreted by the St.Mark’s Opera Company (singers from theatres in Tuscany, see www.concertoclassico.info), accompanied just by piano. Every act is explained in English so you can follow the action easily, being near to the artists you will experience to be involved in the scene and the emotions. In case of rain the performances will take place at the Old Abbey Isola (Abbadia Isola), just 2 km away from the Monteriggioni Castle.
