Amala Children's Home
Tamil Nadu, South India
The Association Musicale Concerto Classico always gives part of
their tickets' revenue to a charity project supporting children
in South India - named "Amala". There are no overheads, so if
you help, every penny goes to the children!
This remarkable project was founded in India and discovered by
Kim Pollit, who
lives in North Yorkshire. He felt touched by the efforts the
supporters gave to children aged between 3 and 16, coming from
the poorest families in South India.
Amala is about saving the lives of these children by providing
security and care, thus preventing them from drifting into cities
where their only chance of survival is to beg, steal or be taken
into bonded labour or prostitution.
With every concert, Concerto Classico supports Amala.
